Oxplore interviews composer Dr. Des Oliver about his documentary series for the British Music Collection-Identity and the Anxiety of Influence-about BME representation in classical music. He talks about his experiences meeting and interviewing classical musicians of African and Caribbean heritage, some of the issues of cultural appropriation, and the impact of his background on his work.




The Sounds of South Asia series brings musicians and dancers from South Asia to perform in venues across Oxford. Dr. Des Oliver, a classical composer and artistic curator of the series, talks about organising the concerts.
